Step 4 Using the HMRC calculator to calculate your grant entitlement

The government have created a simple easy to use calculator which will give you and instant grant entitlement calculation so that you can get paid your grant entitlement quicker.

Before you start you will need the following

• The start and end date of the period you want to claim for (see our guide on what period to claim for)
• Employee’s pay dates (the date you pay them)
• End dates of your employees pay period (on your payslips)
• How much they are paid normally each week or month (prior to being furloughed)
• When their furlough started (and ended, if not ongoing)

What happens if I have more than 1 employee?

If you have more than one employee you will need to go through the calculation steps for each employee separately, however make sure you use the same claim period for every employee (even if one of the employees wasn’t furloughed for the entire period).
